(NASBA: TX)

Review the hierarchy of tax laws, regulations, administrative pronouncements and court cases to understand how each of these applies to an issue.

The core of the client question, whether it relates to tax compliance or planning, requires thinking through the facts. To arrive at the correct answer efficiently, it's critical to address six key questions:

1. Who
2. What
3. Where
4. When
5. Why
6. How

The course will demonstrate how to properly frame the questions to extract the actual issues. The discussion will cover how to treat "grey" areas, situations where tax law is unclear or there is conflicting guidance among authorities.

Coverage will include an examination of online search techniques using live searches. Keyword search methods will be demonstrated to effectively perform the research and locate your specific issue.

The goal of this course is to teach attendees how to resolve tax issues expeditiously, and most importantly, accurately.
