Special Note: If you want to attend a practical workshop applying the new SSARS #19 requirements, we recommend that you attend "Compilations & Review Engagements Under SSARS #19" after this Update.
"Manual will be a great reference tool." - David White, San Diego
This program provides a comprehensive understanding of the standards that apply to practitioners who perform compilations or reviews of the financial statements of nonpublic entities. A foundation will be established with a brief overview of the key elements of an audit engagement, including:
- Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
- Statements on Auditing Standards (SASs)
This program also describes the specific requirements for compilation and review engagements, as set forth in Statements on Standards for Review Services (SSARSs) issued by the Accounting and Review Services Committee. This includes the standards and requirements in SSARS #1 through #20 (issued in February 2011) that have not been superseded.
In addition, SSARS #19 became effective for compilations and reviews of financial statements for periods ending after December 15, 2010. This pronouncement supersedes many of the previous SSARS. As a result, the new requirements will be covered separately and in-depth. You will also gain knowledge of the Statements on Quality Control Standards (SQCSs), including:
- Elements of quality control
- Administration of a quality control system
- Engagement quality control reviews, and
- Monitoring a CPA firm's accounting and auditing practice.
Through this entire course, you will be able to identify with case examples of how each of the applications could be applied in your practice.
