As we look back at the prior two years, one area of focus has been fraud and its implications to the survival of companies. This seminar provides CPAs with a road map to help their clients minimize the risk of fraud to their businesses. This seminar is based on the speaker's experience in developing, maintaining, and refining an anti-fraud program at a fortune 1000 company over a four year period.
The seminar topics include:
- Current events and reflection;
- Historical perspective of Regulatory Change in Dealing with Fraud and Internal Controls;
- Overview of the Elements of Fraud;
- Results of the 2008 ACFE Report to the Nation;
- Critical Elements of an Anti-fraud Program: Culture, Policies and Procedures, Training, and Monitoring, as implemented at various organizations.
The seminar includes 3 group activities (Case Study 1: "The Worst Massachusetts Private Embezzlement Case"; Case Study #2: "Special Audit of UVG"; Case Study #3: UVG Hide and Seek") in order to provide the participants with an interactive approach to learning about fraud.
