Overview
(NASBA: RE)

"The materials were straight-forward and easy to follow. Our presenter was knowledgeable and brought the class into discussion with his real world examples."
      - Rachel Kirkley, Pepperdine University

"The class was very good. Frankly I do not look forward to attending Ethics seminars because they have been boring. But Seid Sadat made it interesting, practical, and provided food for thought. The day went quickly."
      - John Hornick, CPA

Our Ethics for CPAs course has been approved by the California State Board and satisfies the Board's Professional Conduct and Ethics (PC&E) Course requirement since January 1998.

  • How do the codes of ethics affect you and your practice/organization?
  • How can you protect yourself against ethical breaches and legal liabilities?
  • And what are your responsibilities to your clients?

This highly interactive seminar answers all these questions and focuses on the latest pronouncements and developments affecting CPAs.

Video Tape Video will be shown during presentation.

Why take FER's ethics course?
Because our course focuses on a CPA’s ethical responsibilities in ALL areas of practice under the California State Board of Public Accountancy rules and regulations. We cover ethical responsibilities in public practice including audit, review and compilation, taxation, and consulting services, as well as ethical standards for CPAs in private industry and government. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and recent reform legislation in California raises the ethical bar for CPAs in dealings with corporate management and the board of directors. Widely-publicized ethical lapses by companies and their auditors bring into question whether CPAs are committed to serve the public interest. Through case analyses and discussions, this course emphasizes how to meet your professional responsibilities, limit legal liability, better service your clients, and honor the public trust.

Inquiring minds want to know.

What is the ethics requirement?

As of January 1998, the State Board of Accountancy requires all California CPAs to take eight hours of approved ethics education to renew their licenses, once every six years.
Is there a certain time frame when the mandatory ethics class must be completed?
Yes, the timetable is designed to allow one-third of the licensee population to meet the PC&E requirement in successive two-year periods once every six years. The schedule is based on the last two digits of the CPA/PA license number. The PC&E due date is also printed on your renewal form.
Does the ethics course have to be approved by the State Board of Accountancy?

Our Ethics for CPAs course has been approved by the California State Board and satisfies the Board's ethics requirement.
