This course will discuss the basics of bankruptcy:

  • the different types of bankruptcy
  • how assets are protected through a bankruptcy
  • which types of debts may not discharge and why
  • how bankruptcy can be an effective turn around strategy.

The course will also discuss the changes in the law that occurred in 2004. Practical pointers will be given on how to protect your fees from a bankruptcy filing. Learn what you can do to be of service and make money with clients going through the bankruptcy system.

A 30 page handout will be provided as well as a free CD entitled, "Five Sneaky Secrets the Credit Card Companies Don't Want You to Know."

The overall objective is for you to come away with a basic understanding of bankruptcy and what it can, and cannot do, for your clients.
